Reach all nations in one city – DUBAI - Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Community Life Fellowship of the Emirates Church - Dubai, United Arab Emirates Dubai is a city like no other. 1.8 million people from just about every nation. Located on the Arabian Peninsula, its unique laws make it possible to have a vibrant church in an Islamic country. Thousands of expatriates move to Dubai for financial reasons and return to their home country after 5 years or so. Separated from family and friends many hunger for a sense of community and search for deeper meaning in life. Few cities offer such an opportunity to make disciples from every nation and to impact the world. Founded in Dubai 5 years ago, Fellowship of the Emirates (www.fellowshipoftheemirates.org) is an independent evangelical church with a heart for reaching those who think they don’t like church or need God. We believe in faith alone through Christ alone as revealed in the Bible. We live this out through grace filled relationships which welcome newcomers and enquirers. We believe in the necessity of loving evangelism and the role of authentic small groups for spiritual growth and maturity. A full statement of faith is available on our website. The position The Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Community Life will assist the Senior Pastor lead, teach and develop ministries in the church. In particular the role will focus on: • Disciplining key leaders to help them grow in their godliness and skills to minister to others. • Creating a training and development framework to help people grow to maturity from coming to faith, teaching the basics of Christian life, integrating into church and equipping for ministry in Dubai and their return home. • Together with the small group coordinator, support community life of the church by recruiting, mentoring and training our small group leaders and pastoral care team. • Teaching in small groups and occasionally in a large church context.
